Project on Knowledge Centre for transport accessibility and mobility of people with special needs started at Motor Transport Institute

The project aim is to establish Knowledge Centre for transport accessibility and mobility of people with special needs. The Centre’s activities will concentrate on extend issues of universal design and on development, promotion and dissemination original solutions of systems and devices facilitating and supporting the use of individual means of transport by people with special needs (wheelchair, motorcycle, adapted car, bicycle).

The project will concentrate on:

  1. setting up and delivering Knowledge Centre for transport accessibility and mobility of people with special needs
  2. reorganizing infrastructure of the Military University of Technology for needs of a knowledge Centre for transport accessibility and mobility
  3. starting cooperation with the socio-economic environment related to transport and mobility
  4. running two information and consultation points for external entities in the field of accessibility and universal design
  5. preparation for education and training activities
  6. raising the competences of the academic staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Military University of Technology and the academic staff of the Institute of Psychology of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in the field of universal design 
  7. dissemination of the principles of universal design in the socio-economic environment related to transport and mobility

 

Funding scheme
Project is financed by the European Social Fund under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020. Co-financing of the project amounts to PLN 5 319 184, including PLN 4 624 388 from European funds.
